The Arthritis National Research Foundation (ANRF) supported Dr. Bottini's work in 2011 and 2012. Dr. Bottini was named the John Vaughn Scholar. ANRF is committed to funding cutting-edge research. Dr. Bottini's research in nanomedicine is exactly the type of cutting-edge research that ANRF supports. In addition, ANRF supports research in the fields of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, juvenile arthritis, gout, ankylosing spondylitis and related autoimmune diseases.
The Workshop on Nanomedicine will take place during the EMN Cancun Meeting (June 8-11 2015, Cancun, Mexico). The aim of the Workshop on Nanomedicine is to stimulate discussion about the state-of-the-art and challenges in the development of nanosystems as therapeutic and diagnostic tools. It will be focused on (but not limited to) nanosystems to improve the therapeutic index of small-molecules and biomacromolecules, novel technologies to assess early diagnosis of diseases, degradation of nanoengineered particles in biological milieu, biological corona of nanoengineered particles and nanotoxicology.
