Welcome to the Hansen lab website!
In the Hansen lab at the SBP Institute in La Jolla, we study the molecular basis for how organisms age. As a prime candidate mechanism, we investigate the cellular recycling process called autophagy, using both the genetically tractable model organism Caenorabditis elegans as well as different mammalian cell culture systems.
